What is Invisalign?
In 1945, somebody by the name of Dr. H.D. Kesling had a vision. A vision of being able to straighten teeth in an invisible way. He dreamt that one day, advances in modern technology would allow this to be possible. The vision is now a reality.
Although removeable teeth straightening devices have existed for quite some time now, nothing has become that advanced until Invisalign and nothing has produced more fantastic results. Founded in 1997, Align Technology Inc. (the company that produces Invisalign) has manufactured well over 10,000,000 aligners.
Invisalign is the latest breakthrough in dental technology; it is a way to straighten crooked, gapped teeth without the use of traditional braces. Invisalign utilizes a series of removable, clear aligners to gradually straighten teeth. Metal and wires can now be a thing of the past as more and more Invisalign dentists are becoming available throughout the country and even the world.

Invisalign dentists use 3D computer imaging technology to draft an entire treatment plan from beginning to end. The technology allows invisalign dentists to create a series of clear and custom-made aligners for the patient. Teeth are moved incrementally with each “aligner” for approximately 2 weeks, and are then replaced by the next the series until the final results are achieved.
Invisalign offers a variety of benefits. The number one benefit of Invisalign is the fact that virtually, it is like invisible braces. They are clear and people won’t realize you’re wearing Invisalign unless you tell them. Invisalign is also removable, unlike braces, therefore you can drink and eat what you’d like, as if you weren’t wearing tradtional metal braces. Flossing and brushing normally is also very easy to do with Invisalign.
Let’s not forget about comfort! Nobody wants to sacrifice comfort, but some are willing to do so when it comes to improving their appearance. But with Invisalign, you don’t have to sacrifice comfort because many Invisalign users have agreed that wearing Invisalign is very comfortable.
Many dentists that provide Invisalign for their patients also utilize special technology that allows the patient to virtually see the progress the Invisalign will make, including the finished results, how they will look with straight teeth and their new, great smile.
Although many dentists offer Invisalign at their dental office, some do not because Invisalign utilizes special technology that requires dentists to go through additional and specific training. Don’t fret, however. There are many Invisalign dentists, and most likely, there is one in a neighborhood near you. Over 30,000 dentists World Wide are certified Invisalign Dentists.
